2018 – new work and works in progress……

One image in the Changing Perspective series is titled Feathers & Facades. This came about as I became captivated by the birds in our area and combined some of the seabirds at Flat Rock, near Ballina, with one of the Budapest buildings.

I have photographed buildings in all parts of the world – I love the urban environment. Since being back in a country area I am conscious of the contrast of feeling ‘at home’ with my love of cities and the built environment. To me birds signify fragility and strength and when juxtaposed with an unlikely setting these qualities become more apparent.

I find joy in the birds around our house, at the beach and as I drive around the country roads. At the same time I imagine them in my city memories.
